November 2007: Solo Show at Pasadena Landmark Restaurant, Majares

October 2007: Work was accepted in national art competition and exhibit…WORKS ON PAPER, watercolor: “Picketts Charge”

July, 2007: Won first place award in San Gabriel Valley Art Association competition and exhibit, oil abstract: “Map Reading”

June 2007: was selected as one of Verdugo Hills Valley Art Association: ten finalists for Artist of the Year: work exhibited was an oil painting “Red White and Blue”

April 2007: Won first place award in San Gabriel Valley Art Association spring show, oil painting: “Autumn Oak”

April 2007: Won “Best in Show” in Verdugo Hills Art Association spring show, oil painting: “Monday”

January 2007: Won first place in monthly Verdugo Hills Art Exhibit, watercolor painting: “Agapanthus”

October 2007: Won first place award in the Verdugo Hills Art Association fall show, watercolor: “Fences of Gettysburg”

April 2007: Won first place award in the San Gabriel Art Association spring show, watercolor: “Fences of Gettysburg”

January 2006: Won first place in monthly VHAA competition, “Lilacs”

April 2005: Won the John Bohnenberger Award, for watercolor painting, “Sports Bar: March Madness”. This painting also won first place in genre. In the same show watercolor painting, “Lilies, Paint and Mercy” won first place in still life and a painting of a cat, “Theola Katz” won a third place ribbon. Total wards in one show: BEST WATERCOLOR AWARD, TWO FIRSTS AND A THIRD.

October, March and April 2005: Won three first place awards in three different shows for watercolor painting, “Indian Corn”

November and February 2004: Won two first place awards in two different shows, Verdugo Hills and Glendale Art Association for watercolor painting: “Poppies”

March 2004: Had a one artist show of seventy paintings in the John C. Clark Room of the La Canada Public Library.

Sprint 2003: Won the Deirdre Mary English Award. This is a one time award given in honor of a local artist and patron of the arts.

September 2002: Featured artist at the Body House, Descanso Gardens Gallery for a month long exhibit. This was also true in September, 2003 and September 2004.

1978-1998 Taught art to seventh and eighth graders in the La Canada Schools: Foothill Intermediate School and La Canada High School.

1998: Retired from teaching after 37 years in the classroom. This period marked the beginning of serious development of personal art goals. Took classes, workshops and entered art competitions.

1992: nominated for the California Bravo Award for education in the arts.

1988: Took and passed the Ryan Single Subject test for a secondary art education credential.

1989: Wrote art curriculum and for four years served as an art mentor teacher for the elementary schools in La Canada.

1960-1978: Taught the lower grades in La Mesa California and in La Canada. Also served as art resource teacher in all assigned schools.

1978: Completed masters degree at CSLA

1956-1960: studied art at San Diego State College-graduated with a double major in June, 1960
